Bitcoinscierge was founded in 2023 in Antwerp by a group of Bitcoin enthusiasts who shared a common vision – to create a world where every Bitcoin user is informed, self-reliant, and fully in control of their financial destiny. Before the inception of Bitcoinscierge, our team had spent years advising friends, family, and active members of the Bitcoin community on the intricacies of Bitcoin self-custody. We realized that our experiences and insights could benefit a broader audience, and that’s why we embarked on this journey.
Our journey began during the financial crisis of 2008, a pivotal moment when the traditional financial system faced unprecedented challenges. Commercial banks required government bailouts, a mortgage crisis loomed, and central bankers initiated unprecedented money printing. This erosion of trust in the financial system and the banking sector inspired us to explore an alternative – Bitcoin.
Bitcoin emerged as a decentralized, censorship-resistant, and secure digital asset, born in the midst of financial turmoil. With Bitcoin, there’s no need to entrust your wealth to a bank because you can take control of it yourself. Its fixed supply of 21 million coins makes it an attractive option for preserving purchasing power in an ever-expanding fiat monetary system.
